The Pittsburgh Gulf Tower

The Gulf Tower is a skyscraper in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania which is also home to the KDKA Weather Beacon. The colors that light up the 39th - 44th floor of this building signify different aspects of the weather each day. The top three floors change color in accordance with the temperature; while the shades of the three below that are determined by precipitation, humidity, and wind speed.

The Gulf Building has also attracted Peregrine Falcons for over twenty years! This blog post links you to a live web cam of the top of this tower where one of these falcons last laid an egg in March of this year.

This iconic symbol of the Burgh is one of the many examples of its stunning architecture.
